Kabira The International School is a preschool and daycare in Zirakpur, offering Pre-Nursery, Nursery, LKG, UKG and daycare, run by Bhattacharya Educational Trust. Kabira exists for a simple reason: young children deserve a place where they are known, not just enrolled.

As a new school, Kabira brings together a calm, welcoming environment with educational leadership shaped by nearly three decades in early childhood teaching, school administration and education management — modern in its teaching methods, and rooted in Indian values, good manners and family life.

Kabira is a new school. The thinking behind it is not. Dr. Rita Rattan has taught in a classroom, guided families through admissions, run a centre's daily operations and worked at the principal's desk — nearly three decades of seeing early education from every side. Kabira brings together what that experience showed her works, and leaves behind what didn't.

It was built on a simple idea: a school should be a place children are happy to arrive at, teachers are proud to work in, and parents feel confident about — and what a family is told during admission should be exactly what they find once their child is enrolled. As Kabira grows, that growth should be felt by everyone connected with it: the children who learn here, the teachers who teach here, and the families who choose it.

Kabira – The International School is not just another school in the city; it is a dream that I have carried with me through my journey as an educator.

Over the years, while working in different educational institutions, I often had ideas about how a young child should truly be understood, loved, nurtured and educated. There were many things I wished to introduce and many little changes I wanted to make for children, but within the limitations of my roles, it was not always possible to bring every thought into reality.

Kabira is where I now wish to bring those thoughts to life.

My vision for Kabira is not merely to establish or expand a business. It is to create a nurturing world for our tiny tots — a place where every child is known personally, where their individuality is respected, and where they receive the special attention they need to explore, learn, grow and bloom.

I strongly believe that no two children are the same. Every child comes to us with a unique personality, different abilities, emotions, interests and their own pace of learning. At Kabira, we will not expect every child to fit into the same mould. Instead, we will make every effort to understand the child and provide the right guidance, encouragement, opportunities and individual attention.

The same respect will be extended to our parents. Every family has different expectations, circumstances and concerns. We want parents to feel heard, understood and genuinely connected with their child's school.

Our teachers and staff will therefore be selected not only for their educational qualifications and experience, but also for their understanding of child psychology, patience, empathy and ability to connect with young children. A preschool educator must be more than a teacher — she must be someone with whom a little child feels safe, loved and confident enough to explore the world around them.

At Kabira, education will go beyond books and classrooms. We aspire to create a warm, caring and stimulating environment where children develop confidence, curiosity, values, independence and a lifelong love for learning.

Kabira is my dream, but I want every child and every parent who walks through our doors to feel that Kabira belongs to them too.

Together, we will give our little ones a beautiful beginning and a strong foundation for the journey ahead.
