Reading fluency and writing development
Phonics application, blending and early writing practice build toward genuine reading readiness.
KABIRATHE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLAdmissionsUKG · 5+ YEARS
UKG is Kabira's final preschool step — where growing independence meets stronger foundations in reading, writing and early mathematics, so children move into primary school with confidence rather than anxiety.
ABOUT THIS STAGE
By five, children are ready to take on more responsibility for their own learning — trying a task before asking for help, working through a small problem, sitting with a book a little longer. UKG gives that independence room to grow, while keeping a teacher's guidance close at hand. Every child reaches these milestones at their own pace, and we work with that pace rather than against it.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP
Phonics application, blending and early writing practice build toward genuine reading readiness.
Number concepts extend into simple operations, comparison and logical thinking appropriate to this stage.
Independent working habits grow alongside confident, general communication and social awareness.
HOW LEARNING HAPPENS
UKG learning leans on short projects and activities that children can complete with growing independence — a story to finish, a small set of sums, a classroom job to remember. A teacher stays close, stepping in only when needed.
EXPERIENCES AT THIS STAGE
Group and independent reading that builds fluency, comprehension and confidence.
Simple operations, patterns and logical reasoning tasks that strengthen mathematical thinking.
Small activities completed with growing independence, building focus and planning skills.
Simple daily jobs that build ownership, cooperation and self-esteem.
A child who can finish a small task on their own, ask for help when they genuinely need it, and sit down calmly with a book — that is what school readiness actually looks like.
MOVING FORWARD
UKG is designed to prepare children for the transition into formal primary schooling, wherever that next step takes them.
