Ready for their
next chapter.

UKG is Kabira's final preschool step — where growing independence meets stronger foundations in reading, writing and early mathematics, so children move into primary school with confidence rather than anxiety.

ABOUT THIS STAGE

Independence,
with support close by.

By five, children are ready to take on more responsibility for their own learning — trying a task before asking for help, working through a small problem, sitting with a book a little longer. UKG gives that independence room to grow, while keeping a teacher's guidance close at hand. Every child reaches these milestones at their own pace, and we work with that pace rather than against it.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP

Building school
readiness.

READING & WRITING

Reading fluency and writing development

Phonics application, blending and early writing practice build toward genuine reading readiness.

EARLY MATHEMATICS

Number operations and reasoning

Number concepts extend into simple operations, comparison and logical thinking appropriate to this stage.

INDEPENDENCE & COMMUNICATION

Classroom responsibility and expression

Independent working habits grow alongside confident, general communication and social awareness.

HOW LEARNING HAPPENS

Project by project,
habit by habit.

UKG learning leans on short projects and activities that children can complete with growing independence — a story to finish, a small set of sums, a classroom job to remember. A teacher stays close, stepping in only when needed.

EXPERIENCES AT THIS STAGE

A few familiar
moments.

  1. 01

    Reading circle

Group and independent reading that builds fluency, comprehension and confidence.

  2. 02

    Number activities

Simple operations, patterns and logical reasoning tasks that strengthen mathematical thinking.

  3. 03

    Project work

Small activities completed with growing independence, building focus and planning skills.

  4. 04

    Classroom responsibility

Simple daily jobs that build ownership, cooperation and self-esteem.

A child who can finish a small task on their own, ask for help when they genuinely need it, and sit down calmly with a book — that is what school readiness actually looks like.

UKG QUESTIONS

A few things
you may ask.

What age is UKG suitable for?

UKG is for children who are approximately 5 years and older, whether or not they've attended LKG elsewhere.

Will my child be ready for primary school after UKG?

UKG is built around the academic, social and emotional foundations primary schools expect, though every child develops at their own pace.

Does UKG still include play?

Yes. Project and activity-based learning keeps discovery alive alongside more structured reading, writing and number work.
